CENTRE FOR HOSPICE AND PALLIATIVE CARE, TIMIȘOARA

The Centre for Hospice and Palliative Care “Casa Milostivirii Divine” is a place where life and death walk mysteriously alongside each other. It is here that patients with advanced and progressive chronic diseases, uncontrollable symptoms and psycho-social needs, who have reached the final stages of their life, find relief. The multidisciplinary team accompanies the patients and their next of kin on the road their illness and suffering is taking them, hoping that there is no end to love, just an opportunity to keep the other one forever in our hearts. Patients are surrounded by a lot of compassion and love, by caring for them and easing their physical and emotional pain and by offering emotional support and prayer.

Hospices change the way we relate to others, to ourselves and the world around us. While sitting at the bedside of a person in pain, you cannot be the same anymore. It is a great blessing to taste the Truth we are called on to see and to be a witness, surprisingly, not of despairing pain, but of the secret moment which reminds us that Life conquers death.

The hospice in Timișoara is a soul project of The Congregation of the Daughters of St. Francis of Assisi brought to life with the support of the Caritas Federation of the Timisoara Diocese. It is a place which reminds us that “You should make life count in days!” and which helps us understand that “We cannot add days to our life but we can fill our days with life!”.
